And, again using Franks' playbook, I colored the faces with black marker,
and used
a small spacer to lift of the back of the collet block to give me the necessary
clearance angle.
Since the spindle itself is at 1°, the clearance angle needs to be greater,
typically 2° in factory broaches.
I used the same spacer I had under the 5" sine bar to set up the original
angle- since the
collet block is shorter (about 3") the same spacer gives a steeper angle.
