Now, here's the trick to a rotary broach:
Using a sine bar, I mounted the shaft of the tool holder at 1° off vertical
and
clamped it to a large Vee-block on the magnetic chuck. I then ground the
mounting
face all the way across, which gives the spindle portion its angle to the
workpiece.
I could have ground the front/spindle portion instead, but doing it this
way
gives the rear spindle bearing, which will take the most thrust when in use,
a flat, square face to push against.
