Done! These are the first, second, third and fourth welds.
The loop/snarl was the first- um, I still had it set on minimum voltage and max wire speed from running
new wires into the liners. Glowing toothpaste! Oops. Second- now covered with smoke- was better.
Less wire, more heat. Third was a good tweak, almost perfect. Not bad, good penetration, lots of power left on the dial.
Fourth is the corner at the back- not bad at all. Nice and smooth, excellent penetration, I might have been going a touch fast.
Anyway, not bad for an evening's work. The welder works great, and is an excellent addition to the shop.
