The spider wheel hup and heavy knurled knob go on next to complete the assembly.
When the knob is tightened down, the serrations in the spider hub lock together with the gear,
so the handwheel feed engages. Loosen the knob and a spring separates the serrated faces,
so the spider wheel can turn freely, moving the quill like a drill press.
