Now for the hand work.
I rounded the edges and corners, and carefully blended them in with the turned surfaces.
Then I draw-filed the flats to remove the "swirls" from the milling.
Next (and not shown, unfortunately) I then drilled and milled the "eye" for the wooden handle-
the hole is oval, and hourglass-shaped. This lets the wedges force the wood to grip the head securely.
Wasn't fun to mill, but was pretty crucial to proper usage.
