Anyway, I decided I wanted a rounded-edge base, much like the factory
Baldor stands from the sixties and seventies, which could be formed
off the now-truncated square base with ease.
I needed some heavy-wall curved sections to form the "skirt" of the base.
None of the regular pipe I had was big enough (or it was far too big)
until I happened across this big roller in my junkpile.
