Was it worth it? Ohe yeah. Once I reassembled everything on both sides,
I re-trued the rocks with the diamond technique, and now she purrs like a kitten.
Much quieter and rock steady. A major improvement, and more pleasant to use.
(Oh, and yes there's a blotter under there- it's the same size as the flange.)
