Therefore, it was time for a bolt. I could have simply ordered one, but I can be impatient- and besides,
I could make one in less time than it'd take to find and order one.
The first step was to measure the breech-door bore, which I was surprised to find was a
huge
.714"- or about .030" larger than today's average paint. No wonder these things tend to chop.
