The movie
10 Things I Hate About You (Heath Ledger, 1999) contains a brief scene of a unique version of "paint ball" using water balloons.
After paddleboating, Patrick (Heath Ledger) and Kat (Julia Stiles)
decide to go "paint balling", at this interesting open-air play area.
In this unique form of "paint ball", instead of actual paintballs and
markers, the players are given a shoulder bag full of paint-filled
water balloons,
and apparently just throw them at each other.
There doesn't appear to be any actual game or scoring, beyond just
trying to hit the other guy with a paintballoon. (Nothing wrong with
that.
)
Both Patrick and Kat manage to hit each other multiple times, and even
have one or two bounce without breaking. Here, Patrick has one
break in his hand before he can throw it.
